At the moment I am working on a number of projects, the first of which will be hopefully out in March 2010.
It will be the beginning of a new series: portraits dedicated to individual singers in the metal scene, presented through the topics of their own choice - one topic for each letter of the alphabet.
This series I am going to kick off with a feature on Epica's Simone Simons; a singer I have had a chance to see transform from a inexperienced teenager with lots of potential to a confident and impressive performer and a role-model for many metal fans.
There are already preparations made for part II of this series. More news about it soon.
Some of the other projects I am working on are:
- a book dedicated to women in avant-garde metal, featuring interviews with such bands as The Third and The Mortal, Monika Edvardsen, Ram-Zet, To-Mera, Angizia, Korova, Akphaezya, The Gathering, Aghora, Fleurety, Peccatum and many more,
and
- a feature on "female-fronted metal" seen through the eyes of men, with interviews with a.o. Mark Jansen, Sander Gommans, Waldemar Sorychta, Alex Krul and Christofer Johnsson.
